Genesis 16
Something from this chapter keeps jumping out at me. It is the story of Sarai and Hagar. Sarai and Abram could not have children of their own so after trying for a long time Sarai decided to fix the problem her own way and in her own timing. She told Abram to have sex with her maid Hagar in order to have a baby. Once the baby was born Hagar treated Sarai with scorn and contempt and looked down her nose at her because she could not have her own baby, so Sarai resented the baby and her maid.
How ofter do we do the exact same thing? We pray for something and when it doesn’t happen we start trying to force it and make it happen in our timing and with our plan. Often when we do that we end up with something we do not even like or want. It looks at us in scorn and we look at it with resentment because it was not God’s plan for our life. His plans are perfect and if we could just get to the place where we could put our full trust in Him and His timing we would walk in peace and joy all of the time.
I want to encourage you to continue waiting on Him. Whatever miracle you are believing Him for, trust His timing and His perfect plan. Don’t get in a hurry, instead use the waiting as a time to get closer to Him. Guard against anger, frustration, and resentment and instead approach His throne with thanksgiving and praise. Take time to sit at the feet of Jesus and really get to know Him on a deep, personal level.
Blessings!!
