Proverbs 3:5-6 All Means All

I want to share something the Lord laid on my heart today. There is a verse that I call my life verse. It has really given me hope in very difficult situations and I have read it often, quoted it, and I even have it on a plaque in my house.

This is the verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].

Another Version: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

I have said this verse probably no less than a 100 times, but today God highlighted one tiny word that is so often over looked: all….all your heart. So many times we trust and rely on God for somethings in our lives and maybe even some of us can say we trust and rely on Him for most things, but can we honestly say we trust and rely on Him in ALL things? All means all-every thought, decision, feeling, choice, need, want, conversation, words we speak, career choices, who we date, who we are friends with, our calling, our purpose, our family-all means every single thing about us-everything.

Do we acknowledge Him in every area of our lives? Are there things we hold back because we refuse to put them in His hand, or we put them in His hand only to snatch them back? Do we trust Him with the ones and things we love the most? Do we acknowledge Him in our conversations? Are the words that come out of our mouths full of faith and trust in Him or how often do we speak the exact opposite of faith and trust? Do we really allow Him in every single area of our lives?

I want to encourage you to take stock of your life. Is there anything you are holding back? Can you honestly say you fully trust and acknowledge Him in your heart and all of your ways? Spend some time in prayer with Him searching your heart and surrendering fully to Him. I promise you when we fully lay down our lives we get so much more in return!!
