In the Waiting

Today I was listening to a song that talked about waiting for God to move. I was singing the lyrics and I clearly heard the Lord speak to my heart and say there are times He is waiting for me/us. I immediately knew what He meant.

It is not always about us waiting for Him, even when we think we are waiting for Him. There are times He is waiting for us to seek Him, ask Him, talk to Him, lay everything down at His feet in surrender, walk by faith and not by sight, refuse the lies of the enemy, get in His Word, and press into His presence like never before. We may be sitting silently on the sidelines waiting for Him to move when we really need to be active in the pursuit of Him and our breakthrough. We can get so focused on our needs that our eyes get off Him and we become distracted.

I am not saying this is the case every single time we are in a season of waiting, but it is for sure the case sometimes. When we are in a season of waiting it is the time to press into Him more than we ever have. We must get into His Word, fast, pray, refuse the lies of the enemy, build our faith by remembering His goodness, ask Him to search our hearts for areas that need to change, surrender anything we have been holding back, walk in the identity given to us by Him, speak life and truth over our lives that is found in His Word, refuse to give room to doubt, frustration, and anger, and use it as a time of growth in Him.
