I want to encourage you, as well as myself, to take some time today for self evaluation.
Let’s ask ourselves:
What is my level of dedication to the Lord?
What areas of my life do I need to fully surrender to Him?
What attitudes do I need to adjust?
Do I have any pride or rebellion operating in my character/personality?
Do I love others in the way I am called to love them?
What kinds of words come out of my mouth? Am I negative and critical or do I speak life?
Where is my level of faith? Do I really trust God like I say I do?
Am I willing to lay my life down at His feet no matter what that looks like?
Have I forgiven everyone who has ever hurt me?
What areas of the flesh do I need to crucify?
Do I spend time with the Lord reading His Word and praying?
Am I angry or resentful towards God for things that have happened in my life?
Do I understand who He is or do I need to do some digging in His Word to really understand His character?
Am I fully walking in the calling, identity, and authority He has given me?
Do I know who I am in Christ?
What areas does He want to change?
How can I look and act more like Him?
Once we ask ourselves these questions we then need to take them before the Lord in prayer and ask Him to search our hearts and show us what He sees. We need to ask Him to change anything in us that does not line up with His Word and make us who He has created us to be. Real change always starts with a honest look at ourselves. Spending time doing self evaluation is essential in our walks with the Lord. We cannot change what we do not acknowledge. This is something we should be doing often.
