Scriptures to Support Spiritual House Cleaning

Deuteronomy 7:25–26 The graven images of their gods you are to burn with fire; you shall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, or you will be snared by it, for it is an abomination to the Lord your God. You shall not bring an abomination into your house, and like it come under the ban; you shall utterly detest it and you shall utterly abhor it, for it is something banned.

Deuteronomy 18:10-14 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire [as a sacrifice], one who uses divination and fortune-telling, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who casts a charm or spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or a necromancer [who seeks the dead]. For everyone who does these things is utterly repulsive to the LORD; and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God is driving them out before you. 13 You shall be blameless (complete, perfect) before the LORD your God. 14 For these nations which you shall dispossess listen to those who practice witchcraft and to diviners and fortune-tellers, but as for you, the LORD your God has not allowed you to do so.

Acts 16:16-18 It happened that as we were on our way to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave-girl who had a spirit of divination [that is, a demonic spirit claiming to foretell the future and discover hidden knowledge], and she brought her owners a good profit by fortune-telling. She followed after Paul and us and kept screaming and shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God! They are proclaiming to you the way of salvation!” She continued doing this for several days. Then Paul, being greatly annoyed and worn out, turned and said to the spirit [inside her], “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ [as His representative] to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment.

Leviticus 19:31 ‘Do not turn to mediums [who pretend to consult the dead] or to spiritists [who have spirits of divination]; do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:6 ‘As for the person who turns to mediums [who consult the dead] or to spiritists, to play the prostitute after them, I shall set My face against that person and will cut him off from his people [excluding him from the atonement made for them].

Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowards and unbelieving and abominable [who are devoid of character and personal integrity and practice or tolerate immorality], and murderers, and sorcerers [with intoxicating drugs], and idolaters and occultists [who practice and teach false religions], and all the liars [who knowingly deceive and twist truth], their part will be in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Revelation 22:15 Outside are the dogs [the godless, the impure, those of low moral character] and the sorcerers [with their intoxicating drugs, and magic arts], and the immoral persons [the perverted, the molesters, and the adulterers], and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying (deception, cheating).

Galatians 5:19-21 Now the practices of the sinful nature are clearly evident: they are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality (total irresponsibility, lack of self-control), idolatry, sorcery,

hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions [that promote

heresies], envy, drunkenness, riotous behavior, and other things like these. I warn you

beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Micah 5:12 “I will cut off witchcrafts and sorceries from your hand, And you shall have no more fortune-tellers.

2 Kings 23:24 Moreover, Josiah removed the mediums and the soothsayers and the teraphim (household gods) and the idols and all the repulsive things that were seen in Judah and in Jerusalem, so that he might fulfill the words of the law written in the book which Hilkiah the priest found in the house (temple) of the LORD.

Acts 19:18-20 Many of those who had become believers were coming, confessing and disclosing their [former sinful] practices. And many of those who had practiced magical arts collected their books and [throwing book after book on the pile] began burning them in front of everyone. They calculated their value and found it to be 50,000 pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord [concerning eternal salvation through faith in Christ] was growing greatly and prevailing.

Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble], according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Christ.

2 Chronicles 33:6 He made his sons pass through the fire [as an offering to his gods] in the Valley of Ben-hinnom; and he practiced witchcraft, used divination, and practiced sorcery, and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger.

1 Chronicles 10:13-14 So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against the LORD, for his failure to keep the word of the LORD; and also because he consulted a medium [regarding a

spirit of the dead], to inquire of her, and did not inquire of the LORD [instead]. Therefore

the LORD killed him and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.

2 Kings 21:6 He made his son pass through the fire and burned him [as an offering to Molech]; he practiced witchcraft and divination, and dealt with mediums and soothsayers. He did great evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger.

2 Kings 17:17 They made their sons and their daughters pass through the fire [as human sacrifices], and used divination [to foretell the future] and enchantments; and they sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger.

Nahum 3:4 All because of the many acts of prostitution of [Nineveh] the prostitute, The charming and well-favored one, the mistress of sorceries, Who betrays nations by her acts of prostitution (idolatry) And families by her sorceries.

1 Corinthians 10:21 You cannot drink [both] the Lord’s cup and the cup of demons. You cannot share in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons [thereby becoming partners with them].

Demons do not care if you consider what you are doing as innocent entertainment. They only care if it gives them legal rights to your life and home.

**Do not forget to go through your kids’ toys, music, items. If you live with a spouse who is not on board purge your personal items, and then pray for your spouse to see truth. You can remove the legal rights to your personal life, but if they will not allow you to purge your home the demons will still have a legal right to be there and you will need to stay diligent in spiritual warfare.

Items that seem to have a demon attached, but are not demonic in nature

Familiar spirits could be attached, command the demons to go in the name of Jesus

Could be from a house that had a demon

When buying used items always pray over them before bringing them in your home and verbally command demons to go in the name of Jesus. (Tell the story of the vintage picture).

Step Two: repent for ungodly items in the home

Step Three: Pray over your home, dedicate it to the Lord as a house of prayer

Step Four: verbally command the demons to leave in the name of Jesus

Take your house back

Speak scripture in the home

Use it as a place of praise and worship

If you do all these steps and it does not break you or someone in your home may need deliverance (legal rights removed from your life and the demons verbally cast out in the name of Jesus).

The demons can obtain legal rights to be in your home, in your body, and both.

House cleaning is one step of the preparation for a personal deliverance session.
