James 4:7 So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.

Steps

1. Submit to God: That means holding nothing back from Him-submitting to His will, His plan, and His purposes for our lives. It also means giving Him the number one spot in our lives.

2. Resist the Devil (demons): Resisting is an action. It means not allowing the demons to speak to our minds and create negative thought patterns. We must verbally command them to be silent and to leave in the name of Jesus. Do not entertain their lies for even one moment. Take your mind back and refuse to allow them access.

3. He (demons) will flee: If we submit to God and resist the demons they have no choice but to flee. It is the Word of God and they must obey. The Bible does not say they might, could, or even should-it says he WILL flee. He has no choice.
