It was May 4th 2023, I was driving the city bus when my phone started ringing repeatedly. Since I was driving I couldn’t answer the phone, but I knew something was seriously wrong because I never get that many calls in a short time. By the time I was able to stop to find out what was going on, I could see my house surrounded by so many police cars, and an ambulance. We had been having problems with our neighbor who had threatened to shoot us all, so I knew he had shot someone in my family. I thought probably one of our children because it was time for him to get off the bus. I called my father-in-law back and was told he had shot my wife in the back, and we didn’t know her condition. He told me that lifeline was on standby. I was angry, scared, and worried, all at once. I called my Dad and told him what was going on, that I needed him he said, “I am on my way.” A few minutes later he called me back and told me that the Holy Spirit spoke to him and reminded him of Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon formed against you shall prosper…” When he spoke this to me the Holy Spirit bore witness to me and peace overpowered all the negative emotions I had been feeling. God is so good that after being shot in the back multiple times, my wife was released from the hospital that night. She ended up going back to the hospital the next morning and was admitted for a couple days, but her life was not in jeopardy. The enemy tried to steal, kill, and destroy, but my God had other plans. The enemy tried to overtake me in fear and anger, but my God sent the comforter. I can’t thank God enough for the miracles He performed on that day.
