So many times folks have tried to bring up my past to try to disqualify God using me in ministry and attack my character. The funny thing is I have never hid my past from anyone. It is even in written format in my testimony book. I shout from the rooftops what God has done in my life. I don’t hide it or minimize it. My life has been full of poor choices and mistakes, but God is in the restoration business. I love to talk about my past and how far God has brought me from. My past no longer brings me pain. It is a story of Gods power, redemption, grace, love, and mercy. You can’t hurt me with my past. I no longer live there and neither should you.

I want to encourage you to let go of your past and refuse to walk in the shadow of your yesterdays. Today is a new day to become who God has called you to be and who He created you to be. Old things really can pass away and you can be made brand new in Him, but it requires you to put to death the old way of thinking, the old choices, and the old behaviors.

Don’t let anyone or anything drag you back to who and what God set you free from. When people try to remind you of your past use it as an opportunity to show them how much God has changed you from the inside out.

Today is a new day. What are you going to choose??
