After a rough start in this world and 40+ years of torment at the time of this story, I was at my lowest point and considering suicide. I have a high tolerance for pain, but I had been in a car accident the year prior and was in tremendous pain from whiplash. I was mowing my acreage, and each time I had to back up, it resulted in a mini whiplash on the old John Deere 212. With tears running down my face, the mosquito swarm added insult to injury. This was the trigger, which started me thinking how I could get past the wife and kids to get a gun and end this misery.

I had no strength left to defend myself, and I let the mosquitoes have their way. Out of nowhere, a swarm of very large dragonflies came, and they started eating all the mosquitoes. I continued mowing the acreage. They stayed with me until I finished, and for 45 minutes, I didn’t get bitten again. Some of the dragonflies were so close that I could see their smile and mouths open as they gulped in the mosquitoes. All glory to God. So every time I see dragonflies, it’s like a memorial to HIS goodness towards me.

There were many times in my life that I was very tempted to end my life. I think many of us have struggled with those feelings. Even if you don’t get to the point of wanting to die you may get to the point of where you just do not want to continue in the pain you are facing.
