Remain Steady

Sometimes when things are not going right and we are not seeing our prayers answered we can get frustrated and even bitter. We must get our eyes off of the situation and on Him and remember His ways are perfect and His timing is always right.

Our perspective is so small and we can only see a tiny bit of the picture. God can see the whole thing and He knows the beginning from the end. He sees and knows everything so who better to work out every single detail than Him?

I have walked through, and continue to walk through, situations that I just do not understand, but one thing I have learned from it all is I will not let something I do not understand get in between God and me. I spent years letting things I did not understand build huge walls between God and me to the point I did not trust Him and I was not fully submitted to Him. I did not understand why I suffered abuse as a child, or why any child suffers abuse. I did not understand why I was not getting healed. I didn’t understand why some get healed and others don’t. For years I had quoted the scripture, “Trust in the Lord will all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6. I even called that verse my life verse, but I was doing the exact opposite. I was not walking by faith. I was telling God that I needed answers in order to trust Him which is the opposite of faith. It wasn’t until He began to deal with my heart and show me the error of my way that I fully laid down the questioning and instead chose to walk by faith. I still do not have many answers, but I refuse to let it take me to a place of fear, worry, doubt, or unbelief.

I want to encourage you when you are walking through difficult and confusing times press into Him. Look back at everything He has ever brought you through and let it build your faith. Stand on that faith and let it take you through this battle! He has not forgotten you and He has not left you. Any voice that tells you those things is a lie from the enemy. Push fear and doubt out of the way and refuse to be moved from the truth of who God is and who you are to Him. He is faithful and He cannot fail. His ways are perfect and His love is true.

Blessings,
