A Message About Surrender

I originally wrote this in 2022, but it is just as true today. The Lord often speaks to me about surrender, so I wanted to share this again.

In prayer this morning I feel the Lord saying if we (Christians) want to see Him move in our lives, our communities, our churches, our nation, and our world the key is surrender. Not just saying we surrender to Him and then going on about our lives and not even inviting Him in to be the Lord of our lives on a daily basis. It isn’t about a once a week thing. It is a lifestyle of surrender, daily moment to moment living-full and total surrender. The kind where we no longer have to have our way, where what we want moves on down the list and His plan takes first place, where we no longer get stuck in offense for years, where we don’t question our identity in Him, where we are willing to lay down anything He asks of us, where we are willing to go wherever He tells us, where we are willing to get on any platform and say anything He says to say, where our fear has to take a back seat to our calling and His message, where our pride crumbles and we walk in total humility, where we don’t care if we get the credit, where all that matters is Him, where we are so focused on Him the cares of life melt away, where we don’t wallow in self pity and self hatred, where we really understand that we are loved by God and that is enough, where we are not afraid of the rejection from others, where we rely fully on the acceptance of our Father, where we are willing to lose a little sleep for prayer, where we go the extra mile for others and don’t put ourselves at the top of the list, where if someone hurts us we are quick to forgive, where prayer is more important than gossip, where instead of sharp biting hateful words we offer words of encouragement and love, where we are not afraid to speak Biblical truths, and where we have a daily prayer life, daily getting into His Word and a consistency in fasting.

In His presence is fullness of Joy. Psalm 16:11. When we fully surrender to Him chains break and strongholds crumble. The pain of the past can no longer control us because that is the place we will really see who He is and who we are in Him. It is time to wake up, wake up, wake up and get focused-not on doing more and being more, but laying at His feet in full and total surrender. Pour yourself out so He can pour back into you who and what He has created you to be.

The lies of the enemy have told you who you are, but God has a plan and a purpose for your life. He knows you by name and He loves you. You are not a mistake and you are not here by chance. He sees you and He loves you.

We have the power of the one true Living God inside of us. We are not weak and we are not defeated. We have His Spirit within us. It is time to fight back (the enemy is the demons who want to kill, steal and destroy our lives and our families)! It is time to take our families back, it is time to push the enemy out of our churches, and it is time to break out of being lukewarm. It is time to choose a side. Who are we really serving? Are our hearts really turned toward Him? Or are we trying to ride a fence that doesn’t even exist? Today is the day to choose who you will serve: yourself, the world, the enemy, or the one true Living God.

Blessings,
