Pray for the Church

My heart is so burdened for the church (as a whole, not specific denominations).

In the past few years I have seen:

Ministers dancing provocatively with women on stage while singing music about the Lord.

A megachurch pastor endorsing and promoting his teenager son’s music that included lyrics about oral sex.

A large church that literally punted (kicked with their foot) the Bible for Super Bowl. The same large church had the pastor swinging around the stage on a wrecking ball using the song by Miley Cyrus-Wrecking Ball.

A major church leader who has been exposed for hiding/covering up childhood sexual abuse, spousal abuse, and other abuses. Actually there are several that fit this category.

Several pastors and ministers who have been proven to be sexual abusers.

A pastor that told his congregation that God worships us and he had his congregation repeat his words.

Many pastors who are teaching that God does not care about sin and that sin isn’t really sin anymore because “God is love.”

Then there are the prosperity gospel preachers who continue to get richer and richer while their congregations/followers give all they can because they are trying to get a blessing.

You have churches that have removed the altars because they do not see the need for them. They have removed prayer as well.

There are many that never teach salvation (how to be saved, how to live a Biblical Christian life, etc.)

There is a mega church that I recently watched a small clip from their service and I honestly could not see the difference between them and a nightclub.

Another mega church leader who admittedly attended parties of a singer who is known for all kinds of crimes and abuses that takes place at his parties.

False prophecies, deliverances, signs, wonders, and miracles are flowing unchecked from so many ministries.

There are countless ministries that operate from a place of control, manipulation, and spiritual abuse.

A very popular Christian singer who was excited to see Little Nas X perform.

They are doing all of these things in the name of the Lord, but the Lord will not be mocked indefinitely. Judgement does come to the house of the Lord. Woe to those who scatter and mislead His sheep.

The days of being blinded to these issues are over. It is time to wake up, stand up, and decide which side we are on. It is no longer time to play church. It is time to be the church-the body of Christ. It is time to stand up for His Truth, His Word. It is time to fall on our face in repentance for the condition of the church. It is time for deep intercession to ask God for an awakening in His church and in His people. It is time for the wolves to repent or get out. It time for boldness-no more room for being weak and passive.

We (Christians) have been so busy fighting each other that we have allowed the enemy to walk right into our churches and get comfortable on the front pew and in many cases in the pulpit. It is time for spiritual warfare. No more being lukewarm. The world needs a strong, truthful, and bold church. Not a weak, anemic, powerless, and deceptive one. We must choose which side we are going to take. It is time to take a look at our lives and see if there are any areas we are living in compromise. It is time for repentance and humility.
